An 8-week Immersive Course with Plants, Flowers, and Herbs
A deeply immersive wildcrafting apprenticeship rooted in Earth’s cycles. Join us at The Kinlands for eight classes throughout the harvest season with Brianne Dela Cruz of Gather & Grow to learn the language of plants through the art of growing herbs and folk herbalism. We’ll tend, harvest, and wildcraft medicinal plants together through the harvest season in addition to learning about and honoring the earth’s seasonal cycles. Brianne will lead hands-on crafting workshops in the field and the Garden House covering various topics to fully immerse students into the world of growing, tending, and crafting with plants. Students will enjoy making herbal oil infusions, tinctures, oxymels, flower essences, decoctions, syrups, tea blends, herbal body products and more, all while syncing with the lunar and solar cycles and celebrating the Autumn season as a community in tune with the land
THE LANGUAGE OF PLANTS WORKSHOP: WILDCRAFTED ELDERBERRY SYRUP
Join us at The Kinlands this summer's end for another wildcrafting workshop with Brianne Dela Cruz. She will teach you how to forage for local wild elderberries plus how to craft a delicious homemade elderberry syrup. Each person will get to take home a small jar of their own concoction. Loaded with antioxidants and vitamins, elderberry syrup is the perfect homemade elixir to boost immunity prior to cold and flu season. Brianne will teach you the incredible benefits that elderberries and elderflower offers, their relationship to the surrounding flora and fauna, and how to safely forage and wildcraft with this abundant local tree.
Wild Dining Overnight Experience at Kalaloch Beach, WA
Join us for an immersive wild dining experience at Kalaloch beach, one of Washington's most remote and wild coastlines, steps outside Olympic National Park.
Spring Plant Walk
Gather with us in the field for an easy walk to identify and learn about local plants in Spring. Brianne Dela Cruz will lead the walk and point out plants along the way. She’ll share information like how to properly identify the plant, common look-a-likes, how the plant changes through the seasons, as well as safe ways to craft with, or eat the plant.
Winter Foraging Workshop: Conifers

Join us online for an in-depth workshop where Brianne Dela Cruz, will teach you about winter foraging. This workshop focuses on coniferous plants, such as pine, spruce, fir, juniper, and cedar. She’ll show you how to properly identify various conifers as well as how and when to forage their leaves, pollen, nuts, cones, and resin. She’ll cover the benefits they offer, safety precautions, their flavor profile, and ways to wildcraft with them for culinary recipes and simple home remedies. Brianne will also teach students how to intuitively connect with these plants so they can begin developing a foundational relationship with conifers. Every foraging workshop comes with a in-depth downloadable hand-out covering safe, sustainable, legal, and ethical foraging practices. This class is ideal for beginner foragers and folks just starting their foraging journey. Students will walk away with a strong understanding of coniferous plants and confidence in foraging and wildcrafting with coniferous trees.
