Wild Wreath Workshop
Gathering in the shelter of the Garden House at The Kinlands, we'll draw on the inspiration of the season, using foraged greenery, herbs, berries, and other treasures that we gather to create a one-of-a-kind wild wreath to take home. You'll learn the basics of designing and constructing a handmade wreath, with everything you need provided for you.
These workshops sell out quickly every year, so grab a friend or come alone, but make sure you reserve your spot before it's too late!
No experience necessary. We like to work bare-handed, but if you prefer, bring your favorite pair of gardening gloves with you.

Rooted Rhythms Wildcrafting Course
An 8-week Immersive Course with Plants, Flowers, and Herbs
A deeply immersive wildcrafting apprenticeship rooted in Earth’s cycles. Join us at The Kinlands for eight classes throughout the harvest season with Brianne Dela Cruz of Gather & Grow to learn the language of plants through the art of growing herbs and folk herbalism. We’ll tend, harvest, and wildcraft medicinal plants together through the harvest season in addition to learning about and honoring the earth’s seasonal cycles. Brianne will lead hands-on crafting workshops in the field and the Garden House covering various topics to fully immerse students into the world of growing, tending, and crafting with plants. Students will enjoy making herbal oil infusions, tinctures, oxymels, flower essences, decoctions, syrups, tea blends, herbal body products and more, all while syncing with the lunar and solar cycles and celebrating the Autumn season as a community in tune with the land
Natural Egg Dying Workshop
$50
Join us on the land at our natural egg-dying class that’s fun for the whole family. In this class, we’ll learn about plants that make colorful natural dyes, plus how to make and mix a natural dye bath to create fun colors. Each person will decorate their own eggs and take home a jar of hard-boiled eggs soaking in a shade of their own mixing. This crafty class is open to adults and children ages 8+. All participants need to register because supplies are limited.
Wildcrafted Fire Cider
Join us at The Kinlands this Autumn for an exciting wildcrafting workshop with Brianne Dela Cruz. She will teach you how to craft your own fire cider in preparation for the Winter season.
Wildcrafted Winter Tea
Join us at the Kinlands in Riverton, Utah, for a winter plant experience unlike any other. Brianne Dela Cruz will lead you in a foraging experience as you learn the language of winter plants. In this workshop you’ll discover what plants on the land are doing in this season, their symbiotic relationship to the surrounding flora and fauna, and what plants are available to harvest and forage.
As you walk the land, Brianne will teach you how to intuitively connect to a few plant energies and then wildcraft with them. In this workshop you’ll forage for medicinal plants then craft a wild tea together.

THE LANGUAGE OF PLANTS WORKSHOP: WILDCRAFTED ELDERBERRY SYRUP
Join us at The Kinlands this summer's end for another wildcrafting workshop with Brianne Dela Cruz. She will teach you how to forage for local wild elderberries plus how to craft a delicious homemade elderberry syrup. Each person will get to take home a small jar of their own concoction. Loaded with antioxidants and vitamins, elderberry syrup is the perfect homemade elixir to boost immunity prior to cold and flu season. Brianne will teach you the incredible benefits that elderberries and elderflower offers, their relationship to the surrounding flora and fauna, and how to safely forage and wildcraft with this abundant local tree.

Spring Plant Walk
Gather with us in the field for an easy walk to identify and learn about local plants in Spring. Brianne Dela Cruz will lead the walk and point out plants along the way. She’ll share information like how to properly identify the plant, common look-a-likes, how the plant changes through the seasons, as well as safe ways to craft with, or eat the plant.
The Language of Plants Workshop: Wildcrafting with Herbs
Join us on the land for a Spring wildcrafting workshop. Brianne Dela Cruz, of Gather & Grow, will lead you in an herbal wildcrafting experience focused on perennial herbs and DIY body products. In this workshop you’ll craft your own unique blends of an herbal bath soak and an herb infused body oil to take home. Brianne will teach you the incredible benefits perennial herbs offer in both wild and cultivated landscapes, their relationship to the surrounding flora and fauna, and how to safely wildcraft your own herbal body oil and bath soak mix at home.

Winter Foraging Workshop: Conifers

Join us online for an in-depth workshop where Brianne Dela Cruz, will teach you about winter foraging. This workshop focuses on coniferous plants, such as pine, spruce, fir, juniper, and cedar. She’ll show you how to properly identify various conifers as well as how and when to forage their leaves, pollen, nuts, cones, and resin. She’ll cover the benefits they offer, safety precautions, their flavor profile, and ways to wildcraft with them for culinary recipes and simple home remedies. Brianne will also teach students how to intuitively connect with these plants so they can begin developing a foundational relationship with conifers. Every foraging workshop comes with a in-depth downloadable hand-out covering safe, sustainable, legal, and ethical foraging practices. This class is ideal for beginner foragers and folks just starting their foraging journey. Students will walk away with a strong understanding of coniferous plants and confidence in foraging and wildcrafting with coniferous trees.

How To Plan Your Garden

Join us online for a workshop where Master Gardener, Brianne Dela Cruz, will teach you how to plan your garden for the year ahead. She’ll discuss how she strategically dreams up layouts, planting schedules, and determines what to plant in her kitchen garden plus so much more. She’ll show you how she draws her garden map, accounts for plant needs (such as sun, water, soil, maintenance, and spacing needs), discovers new exciting plants to cultivate, and learns how to help them grow successfully (before the growing season even begins!). While the garden sleeps in wintertime, this is the perfect season to dream, get inspired, research, and make plans for an amazing gardening season ahead.

Winter Solstice Community Dinner

Join us on the land to celebrate the Winter Solstice in community. In this intimate seasonal dinner party, hosted by Brianne Dela Cruz of Gather & Grow, we'll gather at the harvest table to feast on a lush seasonal meal prepared over open flame. We'll warm near a fire and engage in intentional community dialog + ritual that connects us deeper to the themes, symbols, and energy of the season, as well as each other.
Appetizers, dinner, dessert, and an ensemble of craft drinks will be prepared by expert campfire chef's, Brianne & Robert Dela Cruz. In this unique gathering we'll celebrate the seasonal transition together as we explore the realms where nature nourishes connection to self, community, and the land.
Notes: Drinks will be non-alcoholic elixirs. Vegetarian diets can be accommodated - if you are vegetarian, please register for the event, and email mallory@thekinlands.com so we can plan accordingly.

Outdoor Cooking Class
This experiential workshop will introduce participants of all skill levels to the basics of successful outdoor, cast iron cooking.
If you are curious about how to prepare simple, delicious meals in dutch ovens and skillets over an open fire, you are not alone. Many of us would benefit from an intro to best practices, including cleaning, prep, safety, and care of cast iron cookware along with some tips and tricks for setting yourself, and your meal, up for success.
In this workshop, an intimate number of hot spring loving strangers will gather to sharpen our skills for outdoor cooking with a group cast iron cooking class near our Forest Yurt followed by a shared communal meal that we all make together. To top it off, our partner Barebones Living is supplying each participant with their own mini cast iron skillet to take home as a gift! Add in a day of Fall soaking, moody November weather, and good company and we're pretty sure we will collectively serve up a day to remember.
